Title: WACOM Review..When art mingles with technology...

At Lavender, we are always eager to enhance the grace of our artworks in the best possible way. And this time we have got acquinted with the gadget -The Wacom CTL-671 Tablet -which has brought promises to give our projects a whole new dimension. We thought of introducing our new affable member to you all..

As it arrived...

With a tint of curiosity in our eyes and hearts throbbing with excitement ,we unsealed the pack only to get surprised by astounding look of the tablet. The neon border was something that lured our vision at first and followed by it's sleek and slim structure.

The neon border catched our eye...

After going through the instructions in the manual meticulously , we installed the BAMBOO software on our PC. The experience of using the touch pen was also satisfying though initially we faced certain difficulties in gaining the hand-eye coordination.

Thereafter on Adobe illustrator we tried to trace out a drawing, a rough sketch made previously. We had to simply put the paper containting our illustration within the drawing margins of the Wacom tablet and then select the Brush tool. Later using the touch pen to trace lines on the paper we were amazed to see the exact stroke lines on the computer screen.

Smaller illustratrations were easier to work with. Handwritings were recorded exactly as it looks naturally...

We have tried with a paper larger than the tablet but then it was quite difficult to locate the registration marks with the touch pen. A series of trial and error was required to locate it. So now we have become conscious about using a paper of the same size as that of the tablet or lesser than that.We are not yet a pro but still getting used to work with it more comfortably.

With larger images, registration marks couldn't be located exactly. You can see the strokes on the yellow parts.

To sum up, this device is recommended to those doodling or illustrating with a aim to print their respective works. The process of converting the hand-drawn lines to the computer has become a lot more easier with the same smoothness of using a pencil on paper. So this device is impeccable for beginners and the price is also affordable. Priced at only Rs. 7559.00, it was quite an amazing deal.
