At Lavender, we are always eager to enhance the grace of our artworks in the best possible way. And this time we have got acquinted with the gadget -The Wacom CTL-671 Tablet -which has brought promises to give our projects a whole new dimension. We thought of introducing our new affable member to you all..

As it arrived...

With a tint of curiosity in our eyes and hearts throbbing with excitement ,we unsealed the pack only to get surprised by astounding look of the tablet. The neon border was something that lured our vision at first and followed by it's sleek and slim structure.

The neon border catched our eye...

After going through the instructions in the manual meticulously , we installed the BAMBOO software on our PC. The experience of using the touch pen was also satisfying though initially we faced certain difficulties in gaining the hand-eye coordination.

Thereafter on Adobe illustrator we tried to trace out a drawing, a rough sketch made previously. We had to simply put the paper containting our illustration within the drawing margins of the Wacom tablet and then select the Brush tool. Later using the touch pen to trace lines on the paper we were amazed to see the exact stroke lines on the computer screen.

Smaller illustratrations were easier to work with. Handwritings were recorded exactly as it looks naturally...

We have tried with a paper larger than the tablet but then it was quite difficult to locate the registration marks with the touch pen. A series of trial and error was required to locate it. So now we have become conscious about using a paper of the same size as that of the tablet or lesser than that.We are not yet a pro but still getting used to work with it more comfortably.

With larger images, registration marks couldn't be located exactly. You can see the strokes on the yellow parts.

To sum up, this device is recommended to those doodling or illustrating with a aim to print their respective works. The process of converting the hand-drawn lines to the computer has become a lot more easier with the same smoothness of using a pencil on paper. So this device is impeccable for beginners and the price is also affordable. Priced at only Rs. 7559.00, it was quite an amazing deal.

"It's not time that is passing by, It is you and I."- Ruskin Bond

Do you know that we are in a constant state of metamorphosis? As time melts away unconsciously our perspectives change, out thoughts change, every little thing transforms...so 'change' is an incredible concept altogether.

After a sudden gush of late autumn shower, lost in the fragrance of wet earth  and with words of Ruskin Bond echoing in our heart, we tried to bring some change to a lump of clay lying around, tried to thoughtfully mould it into sensuous and exquisite pendants.

Slices of peace...

Theme: Lines and Intersections
The theme is gathered from our own life. The fine lines interweaving each other represent human life with its mundane trivialities which only hopes for a change...

Close up of the lines. Sometimes geometric, sometimes irregular...
Colour:
And we have chosen some soothing shades to complete the entire neck-piece. Soft touches of blue and brown is given to enhance it's elegance.

Hints of Iron and Cobalt oxides were used..

Still the base has been kept unchanged, it has remained the humble earthy. Because one idea reverberates within us that inspite of all changes, the ethos should not get erased from our heart...

As we travel through the varied contours of our life, we nurture some profound bonds or friendships, you may well treat them as elixirs as they have the potent to keep you heartily alive. But have you ever thought of naming a friendship- bestowing upon it a sense of freedom?!

There was an intriguing camaraderie shared by some art lovers and they fondly entitled it as 'Lavender'..! 'Lavender- Imaginations beyond...'

No! The name of these constellation of creative spirits were not chosen randomly. It emerged from an abiding memory of my friend, Rajendrani. And I would like to bring forth snippets of that lingering conversation where she poured out her heart to us..
".....the whiff of mountain air pervaded my nostrils, crept into my blood as we escaped to the calm and pristine Bhutan...amidst the breathtaking vista of azure blue sky, powder-white hovering clouds and hills hugging each other I found a handful of Jacaranda trees in front of Punakha Dzong...there awe-inspiring rich hues I can still envision...it was lavender, a mesmerizing, exhilarating shade of bluish purple..."

And that was her tryst with 'Lavender'! Hence, we embarked on our journey with hearts full of imagination and eyes filled with wander..

At the far recess of our heart lie some thoughts which crave for identity.  And often do we wonder how to give them a frame. They need manifestation, an explicit expression for which we invite you to the overtures of 'Lavender'.
Our identification

Each and every piece of our art descends from the womb of our imagination and bespeaks a story. They all are unrestrained expressions of passion that throbs deep within!

"Though it's 'lavender' it has myriad shades..it carries with itself shades of 'purity', 'innocence', and 'devotion', devotion to your true state! It is a graceful journey to find stories unheard. We conjure up each item gathering inspirations from real life. At times it feels that our efforts measure up to the ardour of a wanderer in the unfathomable sea in search of Polaris...", in the words of Swagata.
The entrance of our Studio... We welcome you with a slice of nature.

So come, nourish 'Lavender' with the creative energies latent inside you. Do not hesitate to vent out your unparallel ideas and mould them into cherishable souvenirs of this odyssey. It offers a platform to all introverts like us to be fearless with their dreams and your hobbies to gain a pedestal!

Come in touch with us to delve deep into the joy of creation and be a part of 'Lavender'. The warm folds of this bond will definitely enrich your soul..

Hope you would like to meet your most amicable team mates and join hands with them.
